MASS Module Training

MASS Module training is a free online course for automotive repair professionals. The course will prepare you to become a Repair Tech and provide information about the Massachusetts Vehicle Check Program.

Applicants must review the online MASS Module (four modules), take the quiz after each, then pass the MASS Module exam.

Step 1

Review each of the four modules below. You should download or print this information so that you can refer to it while taking the MASS Module exam.

Once you have reviewed each training module, proceed to Step 2.

Step 2

Take a five-question practice quiz after reviewing each module to see if you have learned the information. This will help you prepare for the MASS Module exam in Step 3, but will not count towards your final exam score.

Quiz questions are randomly selected, so you may want to take each practice quiz multiple times before proceeding to Step 3.

Module 1: Vehicle Inspection Requirements

Module 2: Registered Emissions Repair Facility and Technician Requirements

Module 3: Motorist Assistance Resources

Module 4: Vehicle Emissions Inspection, Diagnostic and Repair Information

Step 3

Once you have completed Steps 1 and 2, you are ready to take the MASS Module exam. It is an "open book" test, meaning you may refer to the MASS Module content while taking it. The exam consists of 50 questions, and you must answer every one of them correctly.
