Welcome Station Managers and Inspectors
Renew Your Inspection Station License ASAP
You are receiving this notification because your Massachusetts Inspection Station License has expired. Massachusetts regulations require you to have a valid station license to continue performing vehicle inspections.
You must submit the attached Inspection Station Renewal Application and renew your license or risk having to cease and desist performing motor vehicle inspections.
Complete the attached renewal application form as soon as possible and submit with a Certificate of Good Standing issued by the Massachusetts Department of Revenue with the required renewal fee of $100 payable to MassDOT. (Note: the Certificate of Good Standing must have been issued within 12 months of the date your inspection station license expired.)
As of November 12, 2019, any inspection station that doesn’t renew their vehicle inspection license prior to expiration will be automatically “locked-out” by the RMV’s system, preventing the station from performing motor vehicle inspections.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this notification, please contact RMV’s Vehicle Safety & Compliance Services directly at 857-368-7310.

Change of Location: A licensee may request a change of business location and such change may be authorized provided that the business remains in the city or town in which it is currently licensed and provided it complies with all rules, regulations and policies of the Registrar.
